Teens will learn the basics of hand building with clay in the form of coiling, pinching, slab building and throwing on the wheel. They will complete their projects with simple glazing techniques. At the end of the session each child typically goes home with several ceramic works which they made themselves from start to finish. These children will have the opportunity to pick up a new hobby, learn a multitude of hand skills, and work on problem solving. They will be welcomed into an environment where their creativity is encouraged and make new friends along the way. Experienced students may pursue their own projects under the guidance of the instructor. Pick-up finished work 2-3 weeks after last class.
